The Celtic Festival of Samhain
Samhain (Phonetic "sow-ween" ) or All Hallow’s Eve is celebrated on October 31st and it literally means summer ending.
This ancient holy day occurs between the Autumn Equinox and the Winter Solstice.
A time to celebrates the harvest.
One of the many aspects that comprise Samhain is that of the Celtic New Year.
At this point, one can glance back at the past year to gain insight from our experiences.
This is also a time of honoring ancestors and deceased loved ones.
A time to reflect on all my long gone friends and relations
especially my Parents and my Grand parents who are with me, in spirit only.
In Nature in the Northern hemisphere all prepare for Winter.
To day I celebrate with a tree....
The tree I honer on this day is the wondrous Apple
Her Fruit, Flower and wood give me so much pleasure every season
Apple Bobbing and "Catch Quick" on an Apple dangle on a string
kneeling hands behind my back to giggling children of past present and future!!
Or Brandy snatch the raisins and apple from the flames of a good Brandy bowl
All games from the past.
And to the past a Toast!!
So I charge a glass of Cyder and wish you..
A Happy Samhain!!

The Mother Apple
My Sanhain tree!
She
Feeds us
Warms us
Delights us
And the Nectar of the Gods in the juice and the sweetness
"If you listen with your being
you can hear her heart beat in the Orchard of our time!!"
To All Let’s Celebrate, Happy Samhain, and Happy Halloween!
